Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals in Strabane are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which you will receive upon booking confirmation or when collecting your vehicle. This agreement outlines key terms, conditions, insurance information, applicable charges, and your obligations for the rental period. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Renting a vehicle with Car Hire requires:
- To rent a vehicle from Car Hire in Strabane, you must be at least 21 years old; age restrictions may vary based on vehicle type, with extra charges applicable for drivers under 25. A valid, full driving licence suited to the vehicle category is required, held for the duration specified in the Rental Agreement. Additionally, you need to present valid identification and proof of your current address, along with payment information and a security deposit. Please check the Rental Agreement for any further requirements.
Booking and Payment Process
- Reservations can be easily made via our website, by telephone, or directly at our Strabane office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. Full payment and a security deposit are usually required at the time of vehicle pickup. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment providers.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of collection, it is important to conduct a comprehensive inspection of the vehicle and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be created and signed to document this assessment. Please ensure the vehicle is returned in the same condition as it was collected, accounting for normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and charged accordingly. The vehicle should also be returned with the same fuel level as at the time of pick-up; refueling fees will be applied if the fuel level is lower. Late returns may result in extra charges, so please inform us as soon as possible if you expect a delay. You will be responsible for any parking fines, traffic violations, or other charges accrued during the rental period, along with an administrative fee.
Insurance and Liability Policies

Additional insurance options may be available to help minimize your financial liability. It is beneficial to review these options thoroughly. You remain liable for any damage or loss up to the insurance excess, unless further coverage is obtained. Responsibility for damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violation of these Terms lies with you, irrespective of your insurance coverage.
6. Modifications and Cancellations
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For specific information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Charges may apply for late cancellations or no-shows.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Vehicle Uses
- Use of the vehicle for any unlawful activity is strictly prohibited. Engaging in racing, rallying, off-road driving, or other hazardous practices is not allowed. Transporting dangerous materials or sub-letting the vehicle to unauthorized individuals is forbidden. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is unacceptable. The vehicle must not be used for purposes it was not intended for, nor should passenger or weight limits be exceeded. Operating the vehicle outside of the agreed geographical boundaries requires prior authorization.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and extra fees.
Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowed by law in Strabane, Car Hire accepts no liability for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business that may result from your use of our services. Our maximum liability for any claim is capped at the rental amount paid in the last 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury due to negligence or fraud.
9. Applicable Law
These Terms are regulated by the laws of England and Wales. All disputes will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the relevant courts in this region.
